Position: Software Engineer/Developer Intern

Description: "FlashMonkey is looking for a Software Engineer Interns to join our team. We are building a novel interactive learning and teaching platform for higher education -- an actual learning tool we believe will help simplify life for both students and faculties. FlashMonkey is an advanced, engaging, and intuitive multimedia study system that will increase studying and learning efficiencies by organizing content, categorizing classes, and prioritizing studies. The integrated AI-powered platform identifies your learning style and uses psychological learning strategies to increase long-term knowledge retention. Our platform is based on a flashcard technology and can be used for studying any subject matter in principle. All engineers must have experience with software testing in their respective technologies.

(Intern) BackEnd and infrastructure Software Engineer / Developer: Users for this role should have an understanding in Parallel Multi-Core processing. Have an understanding in Java functional programming using Java 8 and above. If you have experience with Vert.x servers, cloud integration on AWS and PostgreSQL and NoSQL this is a plus. You should have a passion for high-performance and compute saving algorithms. Our algorithms scream with 10,000 transactions per second on minimal compute.

(Intern) Website Front End Software Engineer / Developer: Engineers for this role should have an understanding in HTML5, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ECMAScript). If you have experience in more recent technologies such as building WebApps this is a plus. You should have a passion for a visually perfect, low click experience that works as expected.

(Intern) FlashMonkey Application Software Engineers / Developers: Engineers for this role should have an understanding in Parallel Multi-Core processing. Have experience or understanding in Java Functional programming using java 8 and above. If you have experience/knowledge with Databases and queries this is a plus. Have a strong understanding of mathematics, chemistry, linguistics or other. Experience with AI/ML is a bonus. Should have one or more of the following:

  • Experience or knowledge of working with GUI applications using either JavaFX or traditional Swing. We use JavaFX for its rich layout and compatibility on multiple platforms, and an ability to control the environment. An understanding of CSS and HTML is a plus.
  • Experience or knowledge building business software.
  • Experience or knowledge with communications and infrastructure: Knowledge working on communication apps using real time messaging for video, chat, or multiple user collaboration.
  • Experience or knowledge building applications that draw shapes and text.

Pay: $15-$20 hr

Incentives: During this initial phase, there may be a %50 bonus if the company meets its goals.
